“ Lovely restaurant with minimalistic interiors barstyle seating and kind service. The food is presented beautifully and delicious! The dashi omelette was fluffy and light perfect starter to share. The scallop shiso soba is my favorite dish here the shiso dressing adds a herby and umami kick, delicious when poured the soba noodles with the scallop and shiitake mushrooms. ”
“ Great experience. Came here with my wife for my birthday as we heard it was a really sweet spot with the only 100 buckwheat organic soba and they did not disappoint. From the moment I stepped in, they were very friendly and welcoming, and I got a very nice local communityfamily vibe that was really comfortable. The presentation was beautiful and the foods were simple and good. Definitely would recommend the black cod And obviously the cold sober with any of the dipping sauces. There were two other couples there and it was such a good vibe that we were all joking and laughing together by the end of the meal. Jeffrey and Steven were super helpful and very friendly and made some great recommendations for the sake. Will definitely come back with the family and more. ”
“ Hands down Best Soba in LA serving hand crafted soba noodles. Japan quality meal. Brings back memories from our 10yrs in Tokyo! ”
“ Delicious. Get the Shoujin tsuyu dipping sauce with zaru soba. The spicy sesame was a bit too heavy for me and you dont get to taste the delicious texture of the soba. There may also be mori soba options that are daily menu options which can also be delicious. Mushroom side dish was very small and was a cold dish I thought it would be hot. Agesaahi tofu was solid. Karaage was solid. Green tea and soba tea were both great. Ambience is vibey and clean. Service is great. Staff are kind and attentive. Street parking is available. ”
“ It was DELICIOUS!! The soba is just like what I have in Japan. Perfect especially for Summer. The squid tempura was one of my favorite it was cooked at a perfect temperature leaving the squid with this consistency of fish almost. Everything I had was top notch including their water from Mt.Fuji. Will be going back frequently. Oh and dont forget to order the matcha tiramisu!! ”
“ Finally we found our best soba place nearby. Love the bar style dining, love the different choices of dipping sauce for soba noodles. The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable about all the foods, how to eat, what to pair and so on. Well visit again soon to try out their course menu! ”
“ Sobar is the perfect lunch spot. Their appetizer selection is wide and yummy. We tried the chicken karaage which was perfect. The soba noodles are made fresh daily as told by the owner and you can truly taste the quality. The spicy sesame sauce was very rich and flavorful, not too spicy. Really recommend the matcha soba tiramisu, very creamy and not too sweet. Very attentive staff with the owner greeting you at the door and lovely music. ”
“ This is my second visit. This restaurant specializes in soba, and while the soba is delicious, the tempura dishes are also superb! The variety of alcohol is plentiful as well. If you want to experience authentic Japanese cuisine, you must visit this restaurant. You can trust me, as I am Japanese. ”
